About Steve Johnson
Steve Johnson
Therapist, LCSW
I have been working in the helping professions my entire adult life. I first became licensed over 25 years ago and have had the pleasure of helping many people over the years, both online and in my private practice. I have worked with individuals, couples, and families seeking counseling and served as a supervisor to newly licensed counselors and therapists. While serving on the Faculty at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine as the Assistant Director for the Office of Clinical Services and Senior Data Analyst, I learned the importance of setting measurable outcomes for treatment. Yes, I am experienced, trained, and qualified, but most importantly, I care about the people that I am working with. Ultimately, I view myself as “a helper.” My promise to you is that I will strive to provide the best care that I can for you. I am committed to doing my best to help with whatever is brought to me. For me, the most important part of the helping process is the connection and empathy shared with those that I am helping. I have learned that “no two people are alike,” and “no two situations are alike.” When we engage in a therapeutic connection, that is a one-of-a-kind experience. The unique therapeutic connection that is established has never happened before, and will never happen again. I have found that healing can occur, lives can change, and goals can be achieved. Over the years, I have also learned that no problem is too great or too small. I have also come to find that although it is never my intent to cause emotional pain, there are times in the therapeutic helping process when we must walk through some painful territory together to achieve success. My promise to you is that you will not be alone.
